<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of collecting radon and to improve<222> Rn purity in collecting radon (<222> Rn) existing in nature. SOLUTION: An ore containing uranium is used as an<222> Rn source 3.<222> Rn generated from the<222> Rn source 3 is passed through a solvent 2 together with an inert gas 5 such as nitrogen. The solvent 2 is cooled.<222> Rn is dissolved in the solvent 2. Nuclides generated by decay of<222> Rn (<210> Pb, and the like) are held in the solvent 2. By cooling the solvent 2, solubility of<222> Rn in the solvent 2 is increased, the efficiency of collecting<222> Rn is improved, besides<222> Rn dissolved in the solvent 2 decays and nuclides generated thereby are held in the solvent 2. The ore containing uranium is used as the<222> Rn source 3 to collect high purity<222> Rn.<222> Rn is introduced into the solvent 2 together with the inert gas to completely prevent<220> Rn, existing in nature, from being mixed into the solvent 2 and collection of<222> Rn with higher purity is made possible.</p> |
