PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the rotational angle of a rotary shaft even in a simple structure at a high reliability. SOLUTION: A potentiometer comprises a converter 1, i.e., a means for converting a rotational angle to an electric signal, and a mount 11 rotatably supported with a main body for transmitting the rotational angle of a not shown rotating rotary shaft under measurement mounted on the mount to the converter 1. The mount 11 has an inner side 11a formed larger than the outline shape of the not shown rotary shaft and the inner side 11a has protrusions 11d to which a part of the rotary shaft is pressure-contacted when the shaft is mounted.
