PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition useful for passenger car tires which maintain good wet skid properties and good exothermal properties and have improved abrasion resistance and improved fuel cost-reducing properties. SOLUTION: This rubber composition which is useful for passenger car tires and comprises 100 pts.wt. of rubber components (a)+(b)+(c) comprising 10 to 50 wt.% of (a) high cis-high vinyl polybutadiene, 30 to 70 wt.% of (b) styrene- butadiene rubber, and 20 to 60 wt.% of (c) a dienic rubber except the components (a) and (b), and 40 to 80 pts.wt. of (d) a rubber-reinforcing agent is characterized in that the microstructure of the high cis-high vinyl polybutadiene (a) comprises 65 to 95% of cis-1,4 structures and 4 to 30% of 1,2-structures.
