PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oriented film oriented uniformly by reducing a stretching unevenness to be brought about in a method for manufacturing the oriented film of a polyvinyl alcohol film by a dry stretching method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the oriented film comprises the steps of contacting the oriented polyvinyl alcohol film with one driven heating roll while imparting a tension to the polyvinyl alcohol film, and longitudinally uniaxially stretching the film. The method further comprises the steps of adding an external action for closely contacting the polyvinyl alcohol film with the heating roll.
