Vertical bulk material counter current preheating tower - with centra interior column and ring shaped chambers

The bulk material is preheated in a counter curent vertical shaft comprising vertically interconnected ring chambers disposed between the outer shaft shell and the inner concentric column, acting as divider for the rising gas stream, which passes through ring gaps into successive chambers through which passes the downwards travelling charge. The dust laden gas is pref. passed at teh top through a distributor into symmetrically arranged dust extracting cyclones, prior to its downwards removal through the hollow central column. The plant is used for the preheating of raw cement prior to its firing into clinker.
