PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a noncontact state from being caused and a delay in correction of the reaping direction from occurring in a field planted with stand grain culms in a rough planting state. SOLUTION: This controller for the reaping direction of a combine harvester comprises a right plant foot detector 6 composed so as to carry out output of a direction correcting signal so that a detected value within a prescribed range is always detected and the extent of contact of a right actuator 6a of the right plant foot detector 6 is detected with the controller. The right plant foot detector 6 is further composed so as not to carry out the output of a reaping direction correcting signal if a left actuator 5a does not detect grain culms when the right actuator 6a is kept in a contact state with the grain culms within a prescribed range or above. The right plant foot detector 6 changes the detection sensitivity to an insensitivity level and further outputs the output time of the reaping direction correcting signal at a time in a short time if the left plant foot detector 5 detects the grain culms when the right plant foot detector 6 detects the grain culms for a prescribed distance. Furthermore, the right plant foot detector 6 is composed so as to change the detection sensitivity to a high sensitivity level and further output the output time of the reaping direction correcting signal at a time for a long time when the left plant foot detector 5 does not detect the grain culms.
