The front portion of a bolt (63) is longer than an elastic section (3) mounted on the front edge of a movable leaf (2) so that the section of bolt can extend through the elastic section, and engage a frame (1) with the section of the bolt being fully retractable into the leaf by movement of a driver (62) in an elongated longitudinal slot (63b) upon contacting fingers between the frame and leaf. The driver passes transversely through the elongated longitudinal slot formed at the rear portion of the bolt, and is linked to operating knobs. A section of the bolt is located between an intermediate stop. An Independent claim is also included for a latching mechanism for anti-finger catching system.
