<p>Preform, e.g. for a glass fibre reinforced plastics tank, comprises a tubular wall portion with an integral end wall made up of a large number of separate pieces of fibre randomly positioned in the wall with resin bonding the fibres but not filling the interstices. The fibres may be deposited on a perforated drum in which a vacuum is drawn to form the preform.</p>
