The optical filter selectively transmits visible light and a portion of near-infrared light, the optical filter satisfying specific light transmittance characteristics, having a substrate and a dielectric multilayer film on at least one surface of the substrate; and the substrate having a transparent resin layer comprising a compound (Z) having an absorption maximum in the wavelength range of 600 to 850 nm.
