A method for operating a digital mobile radio network, involves coding individual data packets and transmitting the modulated individual data packets from a transmitter to a receiver and for each received individual data packet, an individual discrete data packet receiver-specific demodulation process is selected. Several discrete demodulated data packets are then combined in their totality, to a receiver side total data packet. In the receiver side total data packet, individual total data packets are replaced in the receiver side data packet by information, which does not result in further decoding of the information contained in the remaining discrete data packets of the receiver side total data packet.
