A rectifier assembly comprises a plurality of semi-conductor diodes 3a to 3e, stud mounted on a common disc 1 of electrically insulating, good heat conducting material, the diodes being series connected between two conducting plates 9, 12 which are parallel to, and on opposite sides of the disc 1. The disc may be of an alumina based ceramic, and have integral extensions 17, 18 which support the conducting plates, which may be of aluminium. A plurality of capacitors 14a to 14e may be provided, each in parallel with one of the diodes. The diodes may be located so as to have one face in a groove in one surface of the disc. One of the plates, 12, may function as a corona plate, and both extensions 17, 18 may be capable of threaded interconnection, 19, 20, in order to provide a stack of assemblies for a high voltage rectifier equipment. |
