Method for determining the storage effectiveness of a battery (2) in which the dynamic voltage and current changes are determined so that a dynamic value for the battery internal resistance can be determined. The dynamic internal resistance of the battery is monitored using a monitoring device (8) to check that a preset limit is not exceeded. The storing effectiveness of the battery is greater the smaller is the value for the dynamic internal resistance. An Independent claim is made for a device for determining the storage effectiveness of a battery for provision of a voltage to a circuit (4).
