PURPOSE: A logistics management system and method is provided to enable a truck driver to easily assure a capacity of cargo transport, to enable a customer to check a current position of the cargo over the internet, and to enable a control center to efficiently control a cargo flow and to easily arrange a truck by using a truck position tracking. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a web server, an MIS(Management Information System) server, a control center, a communication server, a GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver, an MDT(Mobile Data Terminal), and a PCS(Personal Communications System). The web server receives a transport order from a web client. The MIS server generates transport order data based on the transport order. The control center generates truck allocation instructions based on data of available trucks and the transport order data. The communication server receives the truck allocation instructions and transmits the instructions to a wireless message/data communication server which then transmits the instructions to the GPS receiver, the MDT and the PCS installed at the truck. The MIS server or the control center receives the input data from the MDT, and then confirms the truck allocation instructions based on the input data. The control center receives position coordinate data from the GPS receiver, generates the position coordinate data on a map, and offers the position coordinate data with the map to a client via the web server.
