PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing sintered spherical ultra- microparticles of lithium titanate by which truly spherical gel sphere can well be formed without collapsing at the time of falling in drops even if using a low viscosity stock liquid. SOLUTION: This method for producing lithium titanate sintered microparticles comprises the steps of dispersing raw material powder into an aqueous binder solution to prepare a stock liquid for feeding drops, dropping the stock liquid in drops from a nozzle into a bath where a buffer liquid layer having lighter specific gravity than the liquid in the bath and immiscible with each other is formed beforehand so that the falling liquid drop is brought first into contact with the buffer liquid layer and then settles into the liquid bath making the binder solution to gel to form a wet gel sphere including the raw material powder dispersed therein, drying, calcining to remove the binder and sintering to finally obtain the lithium titanate sintered microparticle. |
