PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container main body of a container for an instant food wherein a hot water draining section can be easily opened when hot water is drained by making one section of the outer peripheral edge of a lid easy to pinch, even if the tab piece of a tongue shape is not provided on the lid. SOLUTION: The hot water draining section 8 having a hot water draining groove 10 is provided on the inside of one section in the peripheral direction of a flange 6 of this container main body 1. Two areas 61a and 61a of the outer peripheral edge section of the region on which the hot water draining section 8 of the flange 6 is formed are offset in a manner to enter farther inward than the other area 61b. The offset area 61a may be provided on the whole of the outer peripheral edge section of the region on which the hot water draining section 8 of the flange 6 is formed. The outer peripheral edge of the lid which is bonded to the flange 6 is projected to the outside from the top of the offset area 61a.
