PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent adhesion of dust to an air conditioner itself and its peripheral wall due to the generation of dust. SOLUTION: A heat exchanger for cooling and heating, an air cleaning means, and a fan are situated in an air supply route in a casing. An ion generating means is situated in the air supply route or in the vicinity of the air supply route, and a current detecting means is provided to detect a current of the dust collection unit. When a current value detected by the current detecting means is not within a given range, the air cleaning means is stopped and the generation of ion is stopped.
