PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means in which a fear of the upward splash during use in a stool with a wide water reservoir is eliminated. SOLUTION: In a water closet, which has a stool bowl and a trap drainage set to communicate with the stool bowl, in which a reservoir is formed in the stool bowl and which has a flushing mechanism for the reservoir, the reserved- water surface lowering means lowering a reserved-water surface in the case of the non-driving of the flushing mechanism is mounted.
