PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved composite material of such a type that the rate of absorption and the degree of reflection in various wavelength ranges can be selectively adjusted with accuracy as described in a technical field to which this invention belongs. SOLUTION: This composite material comprises an aluminum support 1, an intermediate layer 2 formed above the support 1 on one A of the sides thereof and an optical function multi-layer structure 3 formed on the intermediate layer 2. In addition, the top layer 4 of the structure 3 is a dielectric layer and the middle layer 5 of the structure 3 is a chromium oxide layer represented by a chemical composition formula of CrOx .
