PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the best use of merits of down sizing and speeding up in utilizing moving mirrors rocked by resonance oscillation, to carry out a high speed recording with a low power and to obtain good image quality. SOLUTION: In the optical scanner, a multiple number of unit modules provided with light emitting sources carrying out modulation according to image data, the moving mirrors supported by a pair of torsion bars installed to supporting substrates and rocked by the torsion bars as rotating shafts and moving mirror rocking means installed on both end parts of the moving mirrors crimping the torsion bars and rocking the moving mirrors by having attracting force or repulsive force periodically generated between the supporting substrates and the moving mirrors by changing over applied driving voltage are lined up in the main scanning direction. In this case, optical beams emitted from the light emitting sources are made to scan in the main scanning direction by the moving mirrors rocking the optical beams and image recording is carried out by combining the scanned ranges of each module.
