PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate a distortion and a temperature and to simultaneously measure them, in a distortion detecting device using a FBG. SOLUTION: In this optical fiber distortion detecting device to measure the distortion by using the FBG, the FBG at two spots are disposed in areas having the almost same temperatures, and the distortion is differentially produced. Thereby, the distortion and the temperature are simultaneously measured by separating them, by taking the difference and the sum of the changes of Blagg wave lengths at the two spots.
