PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication system which does not cause any deterioration of optical transmission characteristics while being easy in discrimination of a plurality of optical fibers. SOLUTION: A surface light emitting type semiconductor laser element chip, having a resonator structure including reflecting mirrors which are provided in the upper part and the lower part of an active layer emitting light, is specified as a laser chip. A semiconductor distributional Bragg reflecting mirror, in which a reflective index of a material layer composing the reflecting mirror is periodically changed into a small/large one and incident light is reflected by light wave interference, is specified as a reflecting mirror. The optical communication system is provided with a plural number of laser elements formed on the laser chip and a plurality of bundles of the optical fibers which are arranged so as to face the light emitting part of the laser element and are optically connected. Hereupon, the bundle of the optical fiber is composed of a core part and its outside clad part and also an optical fiber whose clad part is colored has a coated optical fiber for single mode transmission and is arranged in an assembly of a plurality of optical fibers which are not colored based on a specific regular property. |
