<p>1287153 Separating liquids DEUTSCHE TEXACO AG 22 Aug 1969 [3 Sept 1968] 42073/69 Heading B1D A dispersion of heavy liquid, such as water or aqueous acid solution, in a light liquid, such as alkylbenzene, is separated by delivering into the lower part of an upright vessel divided by a sheet, bag or cone of woven polypropylene cloth, which allows the organic phase to filter through into an upper part of the vessel but retains the aqueous phase which sinks to the floor of the vessel and is continuously or intermittently discharged. The cloth may be pleated and is so arranged that any vertical line therethrough intersects the cloth only at one point.</p> |
