A moulding composition comprises a hydrocarbon rubber, finely divided petroleum, coke, sulphur in an amount of 12 to 22% of the rubber and an accelerator wherein the rubber comprises at least 8% of the composition by weight, the petroluem coke is at least twice the amount by weight of the rubber, the coke and the rubber comprise at least 65% by weight of the composition. The composition is suitable for making battery boxes. |
