PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for glucuronic acid conjugate production by a specific 2-nitroimidazole derivative and to obtain the glucuronic acid conjugate by the specific 2-nitroimidazole derivative. SOLUTION: This 2-nitroimidazole derivative is represented by general formula (I) (R1 , R2 and R3 are each independently a hydrogen atom or glucuronic acid residue and any one of R1 , R2 and R3 is glucuronic acid residue and the remaining two are each a hydrogen atom), to be concrete, the following compounds represented by general formulas (II) and (III). This method for producing a 2-nitroimidazole derivative is characterized in that a specific trimethylsilyl group-containing compound is reacted with silver trifluoromethanesulfonate as an activator and then deprotected.
