PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of adjusting the incident wave from an ultrasonic probe so as to be constant and ensuring the reliability of measured data. SOLUTION: In this incident wave adjusting device for ultrasonic wave, the magnitude of an incident wave is adjusted in the measurement of a bearing load by generating the incident wave from a probe 3 mounted on a housing 1 for supporting a bearing 2 toward a bearing outer ring 22 and measuring the reflected wave from the boundary position between the housing 1 and the bearing outer ring 22. This device comprises an ultrasonic flaw detector 5 comprising at least couplant K interposed in the boundary of the mounting surface of the probe 3 to the housing 1 to measure the magnitude of the reflected wave from the boundary, a comparative means 63c for comparing the magnitude of the reflected wave from the boundary with reference data; an electromagnet 34 for imparting a pressing force to the mounting surface to the housing 1 of the probe 3, and a control means 63b for controlling the drive voltage (current) of the electromagnet 34 in the direction where the magnitude of the reflected wave is matched to the reference data. The pressing force is controlled by the control to the electromagnet 34 to adjust the thickness of the couplant K.
