发明名称 SPARK GAP FOR SURGE DIVERTERS
摘要 1306196 Surge diverters ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 27 May 1971 [6 July 1970] 17466/71 Heading H2H [Also in Division H1] A spark gap for a surge diverter having magnetic blowing of the arc comprises at least two plates 2, 2a of electrically insulating material stacked on top of each other with a space between the plates, metallic electrodes 7 and 8, one secured to each of the plates within said space, said electrodes having substantially vertically aligned parts 12 to provide a sparkover gap which is directed substantially perpendicular to the planes of the plates and which has a predetermined spark-over distance, other parts of the electrodes deviating from vertical alignment with respect to each other to provide a running-out path along which an arc generated at the spark-over gap is moved by magnetic blowing, said other parts of the electrodes being shaped so that an arc generated at the sparkover gap is turned as it moves along the running- out path from a direction lying substantially perpendicular to the planes of the plates to a direction lying substantially parallel to the plates. The stack of components shown comprises a blowing coil 1, a number of plates 2 and 2a, and a non-linear resistance block 3. A complete surge diverter normally comprises a number of such stacks arranged on top of each other. The coil 1 is connected at 5 to an upper metal plate 4 and is also connected to a lower plate 6. The location of the coil 1 with respect to the electrodes is such that the spark-over gaps are subjected to an inhomogeneous flux #. The electrodes are connected to each other and attached to the plates by rivets 9. The extinguishing chamber 13 is separated from the attachment points of the electrodes by an insulating barrier 15 forming a space 16 which may contain an ionizing means or circuit elements. A ridge 21 of ceramic material or metal may be provided between the free-ends of electrodes 7 and 8 to prevent re-ignition. In an alternative embodiment (Figs. 3-5, not shown) each electrode has a depressed portion which fits into a hole in a plate to contact a similar depressed portion of an electrode on the other side of the plate to which it is riveted. In a further alternative embodiment (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown) at least one of the electrodes, preferably the electrode 8, is twisted through a quarter turn so that as the arc turns it remains perpendicular to the surface of the electrode.
