PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the color density of an image formed by an image forming part positioned on the uppermost stream side of a carrying belt uniform, in either case of forming a multicolor image or a monochromatic image. SOLUTION: The multicolor image forming device is constituted of several image forming parts which are arranged at prescribed intervals and provided with a photoreceptor, an electrifier for uniformly electrifying the surface of the photoreceptor, an exposure device for exposing an electrostatic latent image on the electrified photoreceptor, and a developing unit for developing the exposed electrostatic latent image and forming a monochromatic toner image, a carrying part provided with a carrying belt arranged so as to come into contact with each image forming part, and for successively carrying a transfer material to the transfer position of each image forming part by the carrying belt, and bringing the carrying belt to the image forming part positioned on the uppermost stream side in the carrying direction and separating the carrying belt from other image forming parts positioned on the downstream side at the time of forming the monochromatic image, a transfer part for successively transferring several color toner images formed by respective image forming parts to the transfer material and a carrying control part for making the carrying velocity of the carrying belt at the time of forming the multicolor image differ from that at the time of forming the monochromatic image. |
