PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a method that desired pictures or characters can be easily formed on a plastic lens by dyeing and to provide a plastic lens obtained by this method. SOLUTION: The method includes a first step to apply a dyeing material prepared by dissolving subliming dyes or by dispersing the dyes as fine particles on a base material by using a printing device which is controlled by a computer, a second step to almost tightly adhere the coated face of the base material where the dyeing material is applied to the lens to be dyed, and a third step to heat the base material coated with the dyeing material so as to sublime the subliming dye to transfer to the lens to be dyed.
