PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly measure a surface moisture of a thin aggregate. SOLUTION: According to the method for measuring the surface moisture of the aggregate, a mass Maw of the thin aggregate in a wet state is measured (101). The thin aggregate is sunk in water in a predetermined container to be an immersed aggregate (102). A total mass Mf and a total volume Vf of the immersed aggregate in the container in this state are measured (103). A mass Mw of the water in the immersed aggregate and a mass Ma of the thin aggregate in a surface-dry state are calculated from equations (1) and (2) (104). The surface moisture (Maw -Ma )/Ma is calculated from the mass Maw of the thin aggregate in the wet state and the calculated Ma (10).
