Filament crimping - using fluid/vapour pressure on a perforated carrier surface

The pressure forces some of the filament material through the perforations creating loops on the other side of the carrier. These loops can be fixed either thermally or mechanically to give a permanent crimping or texturising in a continuous and low-cost operation.
