PURPOSE:To clean the air in the vicinity of a crossing, etc., without spoiling the appearance by forming the air cleaner with a part of the surface of a road and a planting zone, sucking contaminated air directly from the road surface, cleaning the air with soil and blowing off the cleaned air from the planting zone. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a road 1 is formed with a perforated plate 11, a hole 13 is dug below the plate, and a space 17 is demarcated in the hole 13. A power source is connected to drive a fan 25, and hence the air in the space 17 is sucked into a pipe 21 and blown off into a crushed stone bed 2703 below soil 27. The contaminated air over the plate 11 is passed through the hole, pipe 21 and crushed stone bed 2703, physically or biologically adsorbed in a soil bed 2701 and in the crushed stone bed 2703 and cleaned. The cleaned air is then discharged from a planting zone 29. |
