Process for the preparation of the novel antibiotics S 53210/A-I and S 53210/A-II by culturing a strain of Microellobosporia brunea nov. spec. on or in a nutrient medium and isolating the antibiotics from the fermentation broth and then purifying. The novel antibiotics S 53210/A-I and S 53210/A-II are antimicrobially active.
