PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guarantee stable engine performance without stopping the supply of fuel even during water injection by providing a new high pressure fuel passage in parallel with a high pressure fuel passage in the outlet of a high pressure pump in a fuel/water injection device having a connected water pipe for water from a water pressure device for injecting water during no supplying of high pressure fuel. SOLUTION: In a high pressure fuel passage 12 connected to an injection nozzle 20, a new high pressure fuel passage 120 having a check valve 140 for preventing the reverse flowing of fuel is provided in parallel with the high pressure fuel passage 12 in the outlet of a high pressure pump 10 for press-feeding fuel, and a junction 400 between this and the high pressure fuel passage 12 is set in the downstream position of a contact point 40 between the high pressure fuel passage and a water pipe. Water is injected while the high pressure pump 10 is not operated, and when the high pressure pump 10 is actuated while water is injected only to the high pressure fuel passage 12, fuel and water are injected. Then, water in the high pressure fuel passage 12 in an upstream side more than a water injecting point 40 and fuel in the new high pressure fuel passage 120 are injected, and after the end of water injection, only fuel is injected. |
