PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of designing ocular lenses having the lens optical characteristics equal to or approximate to the lens optical characteristics of the case the two optical axes of the ocular lenses applied to the eyes and the two optical axes of the eyes are coaxial even if the optical axes of the ocular lenses are misalgined from the positions of the optical axes of the eyes. SOLUTION: The operations of applying the temporary lenses for which lens standards are set so as to impart the lens diopter required by a lens applying person to the prescribed model eyes and arranging the lenses to the positions on the model eyes corresponding to the lens stabilization positions of the lens applying person, then calculating the optical characteristics of an optical system consisting of these temporary lenses and the model eyes and on the other hand, successively changing the lens shapes of the temporary lenses and calculating the optical characteristics in the respective changed states are repeated, by which the temporary lens shapes to optimize the optical characteristics are determined and the lens standards of the desired ocular lenses are determined from the finest temporary lenses.
