NETWORK FAILURE MONITORING METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network failure monitoring device which enables to separate an abnormal part rapidly by directly detecting the part where a packet is actually interrupted. SOLUTION: A network failure monitoring device in the layer 2 network which is constituted of multiple layer 2 switches comprises a first method by which a filtering database of each layer 2 switch is detected and a port corresponding to the designated MAC address is required, using the designated MAC address and the construction information table which stores the network construction information showing connecting relations between ports of the layer 2 switch, and a second method by which a transferring path for packets based on the construction information table and the said layer 2 switch ports obtained by the first method.
