摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently demonstrate the performance of an internal combustion engine while controlling the exhaust smoke condition appropriately even when there is a deviation between the actual quantity of intake air and a desired quantity of intake air caused by an abnormality in an exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) valve, etc. SOLUTION: When a throttle valve or EGR valve of a diesel engine is broken ('No' in S231 or S322), the upper bound guard map for the normal operation is changed to the upper bound guard map for the abnormal operation (S234). Values of the upper bound guard map for the abnormal operation are set lower in consideration of the prevention of exhaust smoke rather than the response to acceleration. Therefore, the upper bound guard is possible at the upper bound guard value QFULL on an appropriate level for preventing the exhaust smoke for the fuel injection quantity when the throttle valve or EGR valve is broken. Accordingly, the above purpose can be achieved.
