PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a false echo signal effectively depending on the operational accuracy of tap coefficient of an adaptive filter. SOLUTION: The echo canceller comprises an adaptive filter means including a plurality of adaptive filters each having a different operational accuracy for generating a false echo signal, an accuracy calculating means for splitting the tap coefficient group of each adaptive filter into a plurality of small sections and determining required operational accuracy information based on the tap coefficient of each split small section, and an operational accuracy control means for distributing received signals to each adaptive filter in units of the small section based on the required operational accuracy information of each small section calculated by the accuracy calculating means and updating the tap coefficient.
