PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxynitride glass body and a method for manufacturing it capable of preventing metal contamination from the outside without deformation at high temperature. SOLUTION: The glass body has an inner layer part 1i of oxynitride glass and the outer layer part 1o of silica glass containing halogens. The method for manufacturing the glass body is described.
