PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorative cover member for a rail and its manufacturing method, in which the problems related to the productivity and execution of work are significantly improved. SOLUTION: The decorative cover member is formed as an angle member by joining a pair of the side ends of two wooden tie plates at right angle. A decorative panel is stuck to the side surface of both wooden tie plates and the side end of one wooden tie plate, respectively, wherein the decorated panel on the side end is formed by cutting the tip out of the free end of the other wooden tie plate and joining it to the free end of one wooden tie plate. The manufacturing method of the decorative cover member comprises the processes of; assembling a rectangular pipe body by combining a pair of opposed wooden tie plates to which the decorative plates have been stuck and a pair of opposed wooden tie plates to which the decorative panels are not stuck, sticking the decorative panels to the wooden tie plates without the decorated panels, and severing the rectangular pipe body, to whose every side the decorative panel is stuck, in a pair of opposed corner, respectively, in the direction perpendicular to the tie plate surface.
