PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skirt lubricating structure that can sufficiently lubricating the skirt in front of and behind a top dead center of a piston. SOLUTION: In the skirt lubricating structure, lubricating oil is supplied from a cooling chamber in a piston crown is guided through an oil hole to a surface of a piston skirt. The skirt lubricating structure comprises: oil reservoir disposed at a lower portion of the cooling chamber; the oil hole formed at an upper portion of the oil reservoir and extending upward to open to the surface of the piston skirt; and a restriction disposed to connect the upper portion of the oil reservoir and the lower portion of the cooling chamber. The lubricating oil is sufficiently supplied from the oil reservoir to an upper portion of a cylinder liner by inertial force acting on the lubricating oil in the oil reservoir in front of and behind the top dead center of the piston. Therefore, problems such as shortage of sealing of a cylinder, scuffing caused by shortage of an oil film, and damage to an engine, which are resulted from shortage or exhaustion of oil on the upper portion of the cylinder liner of the piston, are solved.
