摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent hot offset and uneven glossiness at oilless fixation by improving the tight contact of a transfer paper with a belt after the paper passes through a nip part in a fixing device. SOLUTION: The device is constituted so as to drive a separation roller 9 and a fixing roller 6. The torque of the driving means 39 for the separation roller 9 is detected by a torque detecting means 38. The upper limit torque of the driving means 39 is set so that the slippage may not occur between the separation roller 9 and the fixation belt 8. In the case the detected torque is exceeding the set value, a fixing roller 6 driving means 40 is actuated by a drive control means 37 so as to drive the fixing roller 6. Then, a force necessary for the separation roller 9 to drive the fixing belt 8 is reduced, then, the slippage does not occur between the separation roller 9 and the fixing belt 8, then, the roller 9 and the belt 8 stably travel. Besides, a high tension is not applied on the fixing belt 8, then, the breakage of the fixing belt 8 is prevented, and also, the life of the belt 8 is prevented from shortening.
