PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sufficiently destruction of a FET of a high voltage circuit configuring a drive circuit for a cathode ray tube. SOLUTION: The drive circuit is provided with a current limit circuit 13 comprising a diode 131 whose anode is connected to a gate terminal G of the FET 2 that is an output transistor(TR) of the high voltage circuit and whose cathode is connected to a specific low voltage power supply 132, a gate current of the FET 2 is bypassed by the diode 131, and a gate-source current is reduced so as to prevent destruction of the FET 2 due to a current flowing between the gate and the source of the FET 2 at an in-tube discharge.
