The invention relates to a spectral reconstruction method for a limited band audio signal, e.g. an audio signal arising from a spectrum limitation coding of a source signal, the spectrum of said band limited audio signal being limited to a first spectral band, said first spectral band being able to comprise frequency holes in sub-bands of the first spectral band. The inventive method comprises the following: a correction stage (120) for the limited band audio signal capable of injecting spectral components in said sub-bands; a spectral whitening stage (150) involving a whitening filter in order to whiten the spectral contents of the first spectral band, the transfer of said whitening filter being obtained from information giving the spectral envelope of the limited band signal corrected by said correction stage. The invention also relates to a corresponding spatial reconstruction device, a decoding device comprising the latter and a coding/decoding device.
