PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable stable holding and secure operation in depressing buttons when a user holds a portable telephone set of a longitudinally long form having push buttons and a display in one hand and operate the push buttons using the same hand. SOLUTION: The portable telephone is configured with push buttons disposed on an upper portion of a portable telephone, a display portion disposed on a lower portion of the portable telephone, a receiver aperture disposed upper than the push buttons, and a transmitter mouthpiece disposed lower than the display portion.
