PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader with excellent quality that prevents a lope having a spiral part from being damaged. SOLUTION: Since a width w2 of an inter-teeth groove 9c2 of a pulley component 9B is wider than a width w1 of an inter-teeth groove 9c1 of a pulley component 9A by about 20% or more, even when the positions of the two pulley components 9A, 9B are somewhat deviated in the case of incorporation, the inter-teeth groove 9c has a linear width w1 (at least nearly coincident with a width w of the spiral part, and, specifically, wider by a fitting common difference) the two pulley components 9A, 9B, the spiral part is meshed with the inter-teeth groove 9c without causing torsion so that it is prevented that a synchromesh rope is damaged because the adhesion of a spiral wire of the synchromesh rope is exfoliated because of the overload of the torsion.
