Data transmission takes place via a central computer (5a) that converts a communications protocol for communications between the telephone and central computer into different communications protocol for communications between the central computer and the terminal. Independent claims are also included for the following: a device for use as a central computer in an inventive system and a data communications method for transferring data between a telephone, especially a mobile one, and a terminal, especially a telephone and/or a computer.
