EMULATION ASIC CHIP FOR MODEM FUNCTION TEST

PURPOSE: An emulation ASIC chip for a modem function test is provided to test a modem function rapidly and at low cost. CONSTITUTION: In an emulation ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit) chip for testing a modem which is embodied by a field programmable gate array and satisfying the IS-95C, a CPU is provided for executing a test program being supplied from an external monitoring computer. A bridge(240) is provided for interfacing an improved micro controller bus array high-speed bus and an improved peripheral device bus. A plurality of test ports is provided for testing a modem embodied by a field programmable gate array. An input/output interface unit multiplexes conventional input/output ports of the chip and the test ports. A multiplexer(260) transmits a data reading signal being transmitted through the input/output interface unit from the modem to the bridge(240). A peripheral device unit(270) is connected to the improved peripheral device bus and transmits a test result to an external monitoring computer.
