In a tapping machine nuts 5 are fed to the tap 1 from a hopper 6, discs 2 and 3 being rotated so as to move the nut along the tap at a rate which provides for the displacement of the nut which displacement is equal to the pitch of the tap. The discs have equally spaced teeth 4, and engage each nut as it drops into a guide 10. Disc 2 is rotated by an electric motor 24, through a belt drive 15-17, change gears 14, 27, a shaft 19, a worm and wheel 20, 21 and a shaft 22. Disc 3 is driven from shaft 22 by gears 23, (25), Fig. 4 (not shown). Tap 1 is driven from shaft 18 through gears 12, 13. |
