PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the heat resistance of a protein, a protein having an improved heat resistance, a nucleic acid encoding the protein and a host cell producing the protein having an improved heat resistance. SOLUTION: The method comprises the following processes: (i) comparing amino acid sequences of proteins which is derived from a plurality of species in a genealogical tree and corresponds to each other in revolution; (ii) estimating the amino acid sequence of the progenitor-type protein corresponding to the amino acid sequences compared in (i); and (iii) in one of the proteins compared in (i), amino acid residues in an amino acid sequence are compared with the amino acid residues at the corresponding position in the progenitor-type protein estimated in (ii), and one or more of amino acid residues different from those of the progenitor-type protein are substituted with the amino aid residues same as those of the progenitor-type protein. |
