The installation for the vapour deposition on condenser foil of one or several metallised or non metallised lengthwise strips includes in front of the metal deposition chamber an oil evaporator with a primary steady heater, which is controlled by the width of the non-metallised lengthwise strips on the foil. The width of the strips is monitored by a photo electric device which imparts the information to a controller for the quick response heater. The arrangement is instrumental in obtaining more uniform non-metallised band width.
